Apr 15, 2013 // OHS Newsletter

Now You Can Join the Thousands of OHS Participants Who Have Provided a Blood Sample to the Ontario Health Study by Expressing Your Interest Today!

After successfully launching the province-wide Blood Collection Program and the Toronto Assessment Centre last year, participation in both OHS initiatives continues to climb.

If you have not already provided a blood sample and would like to express interest to take part in either the OHS provincial Blood Collection Program or the OHS Toronto Assessment Centre, simply log into your OHS homepage, and click the corresponding buttons as shown in the images you see below. Express your interest today!

When you access this feature on your home page, you will be informed that you will be contacted by the OHS regarding the program you have indicated interest in. Both the Blood Collection Program and the Toronto Assessment Centre are currently available to OHS participants. At this time, participants may indicate their interest in both initiatives however participants will only be invited to take part in one program. At the moment, we are inviting participants to take part in these programs in stages based on age and other demographic factors.

To express your interest in taking part in the Blood Collection Program or visiting the Toronto Assessment Centre, please log into your OHS personalized home page by clicking here.

If you are experiencing difficulties accessing the “Express Your Interest” feature or you have questions regarding this option, you may send your enquiries to info@ontariohealthstudy.ca or contact our call centre at 1-866-606-0686, which is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Forgot Your Username or Password?

If you have not signed in to your account in a while, you may have forgotten your login credentials: your username, your password, or both. The OHS has recently unveiled a new automated system that makes it much easier to retrieve your username and reset your password.

To recover your username, go to your log-in page, and click the “Forgot your username?” button.  After confirming the email address associated with your account and your date of birth, you will be sent an email containing your username. Your username will be emailed to you only if there is an exact match between the information you provide and the information provided when you registered for the Study.

To reset your password, go to your log-in page, and click the “Forgot your password?” button. You will be prompted to confirm some personal information and will then be able to reset the password for your account. Your password reset link will be emailed to you only if there is an exact match between the information you provide and the information provided when you registered for the Study.

Please note that if you have forgotten both your username and your password, you must recover your username first.

If you continue to have trouble with either process, please contact our call centre at 1-866-606-0686 or send an email to info@OntarioHealthStudy.ca. Our call centre is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

A Community of Champions

We are seeking Community Champions to carry the message of the Ontario Health Study to communities throughout Ontario. If you are a member of a social organisation, club, or a corporate community, we are inviting you to become involved in promoting the participation of your colleagues in the Ontario Health Study.

The OHS relies on the strength of community partnerships, volunteerism and corporate ambassadors to help increase awareness and participation in this study.

To assist you in achieving this goal, please contact Jocelyn Garrett at 647-259-8936 or jocelyn.garrett@ontariohealthstudy.ca  and she will answer your questions and aid you in becoming a Community Champion for the OHS.

Updating Your OHS Contact Information

Please remember to log in to your OHS homepage and update your contact information (address, postal code, phone number, email) if it has changed since you joined the Study. Updating your OHS profile with your most current contact information allows us to inform you of all of the latest OHS initiatives and programs. If you have taken part in either the OHS Blood Collection Program or the OHS Toronto Assessment Centre please ensure you have provided up-to-date contact information so we may notify you when your personal results are available on-line.
